You will need to be familiar with general sewing methods such as basting, stay stitching and binding, but do not need to have made a corset before.

This corset has 12 panels (6 each side). It is designed to give a 5cm waist reduction, and has lots of extra room in the hips to allow for flesh displacement. The extra hip space also serves to make the curves look super dramatic. The hip spring (the difference between the waist and high hip circumferences) is around 30cm, making this a great shape for 'hippy' figures or bodies that 'squish' well. The rib spring (difference between the waist and rib/underbust circumferences) is around 12cm. There is a 5cm lacing gap factored in to the pattern.

Materials required to complete this corset:
- 62cm of 150cm wide coutil for a single layer corset with self-made bias binding.
- 24cm standard width busk - each half approx. 12mm wide, 24mm total.
- Bone casing - 5m of 20mm width herringbone tape
- Waist tape ribbon (optional) -  70cm of 16mm width double satin ribbon
- Boning - 5m of 7mm width spiral steel (at each seam and in the centre of each panel)
                 - 1.3m of 7mm width flat steel (either side of the eyelets)
- Boning end caps - 44 x 7mm width
- Eyelets - 22 x 10mm diameter (5mm hole)
- Lacing ribbon - 5m of 6mm width double satin ribbon
